ABB – Poland Award competition – Results of the first stage

We are pleased to announce that Monika Topa-Skwarczyńska has become a laureate of the first stage of the 22nd edition of the ABB Award Competition for her doctoral dissertation. This competition, organized by the ABB Corporate Technology Center in Kraków, aims to promote and support talented individuals passionate about advanced technologies. It covers defended master’s, engineering, and doctoral theses written in Polish or English in fields such as industrial automation and diagnostics, technologies utilizing machine learning and artificial intelligence systems, nanotechnology and materials engineering in industrial applications, and other related areas. The competition consists of two stages. In the first stage, participants submitted applications, including a form and a summary of their thesis, by December 15, 2024. A maximum of 30 works were qualified for the second stage, and the laureates of the first stage were notified by January 10, 2025. In the second stage, running until February 3, 2025, participants submitted full versions of their theses. The competition results are scheduled to be announced in June 2025, and the official award ceremony will take place on June 13, 2025, during a formal gala. (poland-award.abb.com)

The main prize in the competition is PLN 30,000, with two additional distinctions worth PLN 15,000 each. The prizes are funded by the Director of the ABB Technology Center and the CEO of ABB Sp. z o.o. (poland-award.abb.com)
